This site is very aware that our society has been heading back down a racist and bigoted past that we thought would be long gone, especially after the trials in Nuremburg that made it clear that this kind of mentality would no longer be tolerated. But that's been proving false time and again as the most radical right-wing element in our society gets bolder and bolder with their hatreds.
And now we have radio station CKNW98 and a ranter named Bruce Allen. This guy today at 12:15 made some of the most vicious out of control bigoted slurs agianst one small minority within our society we've ever heard. His attack on Aboriginal peoples was something out of Joseph Goebbels playbook.
Joseph Goebbels blamed the problems in Nazi Germany on Jews. He called Jews all kinds of names and made all kinds of accusations against the Jewish people in Germany.
Now Bruce Allen's rant. He, among other things, accused all aboriginals in BC of not caring for their children, not looking after each other with housing, he implied they supported criminality whilst the rest of us don't, he blamed aboriginals for being in the way of BC's attempts at various questionable projects and goals, he basically made it clear, that, like the Jews in Nazi Germany, aboriginals were in the way of British Columbia's success and had better watch out because BC'ers were sick and tired of it. He made no attempt to single out any specific target group of aboriginals within his rant, it was aimed at all aboriginals.
Now, we all have relatives, people in our family tree that died in the gas chambers, we know what Mr. Allen is talking about when he talks this way, it's something creeps like Julius Streicher hinted at eighty years ago when debating how to resolve Germany's economic problems. And who was to blame for those problems. This is a path to insanity. The words spoken by Mr. Allen encompassed all the same attitudes the Jewish people were subjected to. Some of it identical despite the difference in time and location.
So what can we do? Boycott boycott boycott. CKNW is the radio station responsible for this irresponsible and highly racist and inflammatory rant. They have many advertisers who can and must be held accountable for the words of Bruce Allen. We ask all you readers to write, e-mail, phone etc. these advertisers and demand that they remove their advertising from CKNW or their products will be boycotted.
This way of thinking must be cut off right now before it gets any further. This kind of bigotry is a multi-headed hydra that becomes unstoppable if it goes any further. We don't want this in our world.
